Tagaytay, Philippines

The Philippines are hot and humid many months of the year. So where does everyone go when the summer hits? Tagaytay. It has a cool climate, so it’s an ideal spot for the summer. Bagiuo is another good summer destination.

Tagaytay is easy to get to. It’s located about one hour from Manila. While Manila can be smoggy, Tagaytay is a breath of fresh air. It’s a peaceful change of pace.

It’s home to the best view of the Taal Volcano and Taal lake. Don’t be fooled by the size. The Taal Volcano is very active. It’s smack dab in the middle of the lake. Inside the volcano’s crater is a prize—another lake. And that’s why the locals call it “Crater Lake.”

Home to the most beautiful flowers in the Philippines, Tagaytay supplies them to Manila and other cities. Vendors selling plants and flowers are a common sight. I’d be willing to bet that you’ll stop and buy some.

Tagaytay has a lot to offer and it’s well worth the visit. It’s called the “Center of Spiritual Retreat,” because it’s very tranquil. Those who love to meditate and do yoga will love it.

Tagaytay is a perfect venue for a picnic, horseback riding, camping and sightseeing.

Putting Tagaytay on your Philippines’ vacation itinerary is a must. It’ll be an experience you’ll never forget.
