San Diego

San Diego, the second largest city in California offers an easy going attitude mixed with attractions that could keep you busy for months.

One attraction that one must see upon visiting the city is the world famous San Diego Zoo. The Zoo is home to over 4,000 rate and exotic animals, living in areas of the park that resemble their natural habitats. You can watch animals here that you may never get another change to see in your lifetime, such as lions, cheetahs, African elephants, bears, giraffes and much more. Come see these animals, run, play, feed and interact with one another as you explore the zoo.

If you’re looking for something more relaxing, San Diego is home of Mission Beach, located near the manmade islands of Mission Bay. The flawless beach follows the Mission Boulevard. The soft sand is perfect to lie on and relax while you work on your tan, read, or catch up with a partner. If you’re looking to speed things up, rent rollerblades or a bike and cruise along the boardwalk that runs along the boulevard. After that, take a wild ride on Belmont Park’s wooden roller coaster. The beach is open twenty four hours, and dogs are allowed on leashes before 9am and after 6pm.

San Diego offers a variety of dining atmospheres. If you’re looking for an intimate setting for a dinner date, try Blue Point Coastal Cuisine. The sophisticated restaurant, located in the Gas lamp Quarter, offers seafood dishes while people dine under romantic dim lighting. Some of the more popular dishes are the Grilled Mahi Mahi, Caramelized Salmon, and rack of lamb or duck breast. It’s a perfect setting for a romantic finish to your day.

If you’re looking for something that the entire family can enjoy, try Tom Ham’s American Lighthouse, located at the far tip of Harbor Island. They offer a wide variety of dishes, including seafood, steak and other meats. The view from this restaurant is spectacular, as it overlooks Navy ships sailing in the opposite shore and sailboats traveling through the channel. The restaurant also hosts live entertainment most nights in the adjacent lounge.

Several hotels dot the city, ranging widely in price, assuring something for every visitor. The Hyatt Regency La Jolla is a four star hotel with a starting price of 169 dollars. This landmark hotel sits in San Diego’s Golden Triangle on the Northern shore. The hotel is minutes away from many attractions, such as the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Lego Land and the Del Mar Race Track. The hotel also boasts an outdoor tennis court, and outdoor pool, a hot tub and its own restaurant. For those of you who could not bear to leave your pets at home while you went on vacation, The Hyatt Regency La Jolla allows pets in the rooms.

If you want to relax on the beach, shop with friends, or view rare and exotic animals, San Diego is your destination spot. With a wide variety of activities, dining and hotels, there is something for everyone. Whether you’re here on a romantic getaway or a family vacation, San Diego has just what you’re looking for!
