Florida Keys Exploring
The Florida Keys has become so famous in the traveling world, that it's not an international hotspot. So, just what is the Florida Keys? It's a collection of areas, which include: Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Big Pine Key and Key West.
Florida Keys TravelKey Largo is the northernmost and perhaps most famous of the keys. It's located between the Florida Everglades and features a wonderful living coral reed. Sun-loving nature lovers flock to Key Largo every year.
From sun worshiping to kayaking to fishing, Key Largo is a great spot to stop time and enjoy the relaxed life. There are also diverse culinary experiences to enjoy as well as excellent shopping and accommodations.
Those who love to fish listen up. Islamorada is your paradise. It's the Sport Fishing Capital of the world. If you love to fish, make this a stop in your itinerary. Islamorada also offers incredible diving and snorkeling experiences.
You've always seen people swimming with the dolphins on TV. Now, you can experience it for yourself. The Theater of the Sea is an aquarium in Islamorada that features many sea creatures. But that's not all. You can actually swim with the dolphins!
Cap your Islamorada trip off with a visit to the Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological State Park. It's a great stop for nature lovers.
Another fun destination in the Florida Keys is Marathon. It's a 10-mile long island. The locals are friendly and the cuisine is superb. You'll find all your typical island activities here—boating, fishing, snorkeling, and diving.
You can escape it all by enjoying the spectacular nature trails at Big Pine Key.
And what would a tour of the Florida Keys be without a mention of Key West? I'd argue that it's Key West that's the most famous of the keys. It's an international party that's filled with historic treasures.
One of those treasures is the home of the famous writer, Ernest Hemingway. Many flock to his home to be inspired.
Key West is an all-out party zone. It's packed with gorgeous bodies on the beach and a night scene that rivals Las Vegas. It's also one of the top beaches in all of Florida. If you want a laid back atmosphere that heats up when the sun goes down, put Key West on your list of places to go.
