Disney World
The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida is perhaps the most spectacular of its kind to be found anywhere. This massive resort, spanning 30,000 acres, is divided into four main park areas—Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Disney-MGM Studios.
Each park has its own appeal. For example, the Magic Kingdom has 48 different attractions, divided into seven distinct areas. Examples of Magic Kingdom areas include Adventureland, Frontierland and Fantasyland.
The Epcot center is represented by a textured sphere known as Spaceship Earth. There are two areas here -- Future World and World Showcase. The focus at Epcot is on dazzling technology.
At Disney-MGM Studios, the theme is movies, of course. Areas here include Hollywood Boulevard, Backlot, Mickey Avenue, Animation Courtyard and Sunset Boulevard.
Then there's Animal Kingdom, which is created around the concept of animal conservation. You'll see hippos, lions, giraffes, apes and much more. Like with the other parks at Disney World, Animal Kingdom is divided into several different sections. For example, Dino Land is an area devoted to the study of dinosaurs.
Another popular part of Disney World is the water parks. You'll find choices like Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and Pleasure Island. Another popular destination at the resort is Wide World of Sports.
The admission price you'll pay depends on the type of ticket you buy and of course, your age. There are different types of tickets available. One-Day tickets offer admittance to one park, for one day. Base tickets allow you to choose a theme park per day. Park Hopper tickets let you move freely from park to park and use Disney's transportation system.
Check the Disney World site or call their toll free number for more information about various ticket prices as prices do vary. An average price for a Base ticket is around $67.
