Manaus, an important city in Brazil, is the capital of the state Amazona. Located on the banks of the river Rio Negro, Manaus acts as the major mouth town of Amazon since it is just 18 km from the joining place of Rio with the great river Amazon.

Manaus, the place with the glory of a long heritage, obtained the name Cidade da Barra do Rio Negro, when it was recognized as city in 1848, and later in 1850, it was rechristened as Cidade da Manaus. Manaus, the name, was originated from indigenous inhabitants, called Manos, which means Mother of God. However, the middle of the 20th century, had to witness the remnants of the wealthy tradition.
