Canberra Australia

Canberra Australia
Nestled in the arms of Australia, lies a breathtaking town that possesses as much beauty as Sydney. Canberra offers tourists a wonderful array of activities, from sight seeing to relaxing on the beach. With so many different opportunities to have fun while in this haven, it can be almost impossible to make a list of must sees. Luckily, there are many different ways to choose, according to your hobbies.

If you are looking for an extreme and luscious getaway, Canberra certainly offers this. One of the most popular places to visit is the Corin Forest Mountain Retreat. Interested in bobsledding? Want to zip through the air on a wire for over 350 feet? Corin Forest allows vacationers and residents to enjoy wildlife on a personal basis. With recreational activities at your fingertips, you are able to rock climb and ride the alpine slide. Surprisingly, this type of slide only exists in four other places in the world, thus it is crucial that you experience the thrill. Although it is a long drive to the center, it is extremely scenic and beautiful to glance at.

While physical activities outdoors are great for any family, most vacationers also crave historical monuments. If you are a history buff, chances are you would love to visit the Australian War Memorial. It is not only based in a gorgeous setting, but it is great for visitors to learn about what Australian troops had to endure during these tough times. For this reason, it is extremely educational and tremendous. What is even more inspiring is that every soldier’s name is written on the Roll of Honour.

Want a little excitement while visiting Canberra? Kambah Pool, located in the neighborhood of Tuggeranong, allows visitors to freely swim nude in its river. Embedded between beautiful rocks and scenic landscapes, this river is pure bliss. Most would recommend going between the months of April and August, as it gets very cold when the summer starts to end. Nevertheless, it is a great way for a couple to spice up their vacation, if they are looking for a different kind of adventure.

Hungry yet? Luckily, Canberra offers a large amount of restaurants. From Chinese to traditional food, these eateries are great for any picky tourist. One of the most well-liked restaurants is P.J O’Reilly’s, which consists of basic pub food. Although it gets rather crowded on weekends, the atmosphere is great and diverse. The beer is also extremely unique. Looking for something a little more distinctive? Santa Lucia Trattoria has you covered. With family friendly meals which include pasta and fish dishes, this restaurant brings back customers time and time again. Entertainment is provided every Wednesday and Saturday night, thus providing regulars with a lively and warm atmosphere to mingle in. No matter how fastidious you are, this eatery will surely change your mind.
