These small kitchen knives might be inexpensive, but they're very good knives. I've started replacing all of my old dull knives with some better ones, like the Shun brand. While I was looking at those knives I saw the reviews for these and thought I'd give them a try. Quite frankly, I'm amazed at how sharp they are and how they hold their sharpness for such a long time. The sizes are handy. I especially like the little curved paring knife. It peels apples very quickly and efficiently. Each of the knives are getting used a lot around here for daily food prep. The handles are plastic but well made. That's the only part that looks a little cheap about them. But their performance is excellent, as good as my Shun paring knife that I paid a lot more for.



If you want a set of good, all around small paring and utility knives you can't go wrong with these. Victorinox makes a good product at a great price.

I bought these knives after a news piece on NPR mentioned them as an example of a relatively well priced 'good' brand of knives. The guest on the program had written a book on kitchen knives which at first sounded kind of ridiculous. Needless to say, l had never thought much about the knives l use before. This set has certainly changed that. Compared to my previous generic 'made in china' wooden block set of knives, these have much better feel, grip, balance, are much sharper and easily are up to all the common kitchen/barbecue tasks. Definitely worth the price and l guarantee an eye opener for any other knife novice out there.

The only inherent negative which my wife raised quite rightly was that these are so sharp that an accidental cut is likely to be deeper than usual. We are therefore being doubly careful as we enjoy our new versions of a previously mundane kitchen tool.

This knife set seems to do the trick. I have yet to use the largest knife, but have used the 8" and the small knife a number of times. It appears that the 8" may be losing some of it's sharpness already, although I haven't really paid to much attention to whether it is the knife or what I am cutting. The small knife is quite sharp and works great for cutting tomatoes, fruit, etc. Overall, I believe that these are a good purchase if you do a lot of chopping but are not much of a chef. Good everyday product.

I prefer these to the more expensive Henkel's I've owned in the past. Had them for a week or two; they arrive razor sharp. Purchased b/c all the other reviews are 4-5 star -- nobody seems to complain about these. They're awesome! Different feel than traditional Henkel's, but I think it's just that I haven't become accustomed to them yet.



Highly recommend.

I will start off by saying this is a good knife. For less than 70 dollars, you cant get much better. It has a comfortable handle and probably the sharpest blade(for a german profile and steel knife) out of the box; however, it has a few drawbacks. Even with proper care and maintenance( hand washing, proper storage, steeling) it will dull with moderate use in less than a few months. If you have proper sharpening equipment and do it correctly, this isn't much of a problem, as it is easy to sharpen. Some people claim that this is the absolute best knife out there, even compared to the lighter, better balanced, sharper, and longer lasting edgewise Japanese knives.(I'm not just talking about globals and shuns) If you are willing to spend more you can get many better knives from makers such as torijo, misono, massamoto, and mac. If you are looking for a great bargain, good solid knife for home use, this is pretty darn good, but not the best.

This is a good knife, however I only rated it a 4 star because after about 3 weeks of use I needed to sharpen it. That is not a bad thing, however I just wanted it to last for a longer time before having to sharpen it.
